Grande Int'l Hospital begins kidney transplant service

KATHMANDU, July 16: The Grande International Hospital has started kidney transplant service, becoming the first private hospital in Kathmandu to begin the service.

KATHMANDU, July 16: The Grande International Hospital has started kidney transplant service, becoming the first private hospital in Kathmandu to begin the service. 



Organzing a press conference here on Friday, Hospital Director Dr Chakraraj Pandey, said that the Hospital carried out successful kidney transplant with Rabin Lama, 37, on July 11. Rabin, received the kidney from his sister Uma.

A team led by Prof Dr Premraj Gyawali had carried out kidney transplant operation while Prof Dr Duvya Singh Shah had led a team of kidney specialists. 


It takes Rs 400,000 to Rs 600,000 to transplant kidney in government hospitals while it takes up to Rs 500,000 in a package in the Grande Hospital, it is learnt. RSS
