KATHMANDU, Feb 10: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that the government should start exporting agricultural products.



Addressing the joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly on Friday, she said that the government should increase productivity at a high level by modernizing and commercializing agriculture and export agricultural products.

She said that it is necessary to pay attention to the lack of fertilizers, excessive use of pesticides and the use of organic and chemical fertilizers.


She said that the country’s trade deficit can be reduced by conducting programs accordingly to make the country self-sufficient in food. She said that attention should be paid to the creation of agricultural employment and creation of full-time employment in agriculture.
