Gorkha, Dec 17: On the occasion of Prithvi Jayanti day on Poush 27th, Gorkha municipality has declared a public holiday for the municipality.
On the birth anniversary of Prithvi Narayan Shah, a meeting of the municipality decided on Monday that a public holiday would be declared, as per the Mayor of the municipality, Rajanraj Pant.

Along with all the government agencies in the district, the schools too would remain closed on the day.
According to the municipality, the decision was taken to declare the public holiday to celebrate and honor Prithvi Narayan Shah and celebrate the day in his memory.
