KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Former Queen Mother Ratna Rajya Lakshmi Devi Shah, who is 94 years old, has undergone cataract surgery. She underwent the surgery at Sudrishti Eye Clinic at Durbarmarg.
Dr Suman S Thapa of the clinic shared the pictures after the surgery, through social media.

The former Queen Mother is the wife of the late King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah and the step-mother of the former King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah. After the death of Gyanendra's mother Indra Rajya Lakshmi Devi Shah, King Mahendra had married her sister Ratna.
During Ratna's surgery, former King Gyanendra, former Queen Komal and former Crown Princess Himani Shah and other members of the royal family also reached the clinic.
