Former FIFA referee Khatri is no more

KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Former FIFA referee and referee instructor Laba Khatri, 50, died on Monday morning.



After returning from the morning walk, he entered the bathroom. Moments later, he was found unconscious in the bathroom door. He was rushed to MediCity Hospital in Bhaisepati but was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Khatri, who had played professional football for A Division club Three Star, Jawalakhel Youth and Friends, was also a former FIFA referee.


Khatri retired as FIFA referee in 2018. After retirement, he had been serving Nepali football as a referee instructor. He was also the General Secretary of the Referees Association.
