Flash flood kills three in Jumla

JUMLA, August 14: Three people belonging to the same family of Tatopani Rural Municipality-7 were killed by a flash flood in Jumla on Friday.

JUMLA, August 14: Three people belonging to the same family of Tatopani Rural Municipality-7 were killed by a flash flood in Jumla on Friday.



According to the District Police Office, Jumla, the deceased have been identified as Birkhey Rawat, 60, Jaisari Rawat, 35 and Sandesh Rawat, 10. Birkhey Rawat was Jaisari Rawat’s brother-in-law ( her husband’s elder brother) and Sandesh Rawat was her son.

They were swept away by a flash flood when they were crossing a stream near their house, according to the chairperson of Tatopani Rural Municipality, Nawaraj Neupane.


Their dead bodies were recovered on Friday.
