Five Bangladeshis arrested from TIA

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Police arrested five Bangladeshi nationals from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu, on Tuesday in possession of 1.311 kilograms of a yellow metal ‘that looks like gold’.

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Police arrested five Bangladeshi nationals from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu, on Tuesday in possession of 1.311 kilograms of a yellow metal ‘that looks like gold’. 



The Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Taihidul Tanbir, 30, Md Yunus Ali, 50-year-old Shovan Talukdar, 37-year-old Md Mirajul and 25-year-old Zahidul Islam, TIA's security office said.

They were arrested during the security check while trying to smuggle the yellowish ornaments through the TIA.


Police seized 216 grams of ornament from Taihidul, 233 grams from Unus and 100 grams from Shovan. 


Similarly, police held 332 grams of the ornaments carried by Zahidul, and 430 grams by Mirajul. 


They were trying to board a 'Himalaya Airlines' flight to Bangladesh. The arrested ones have been sent to the Customs Office at TIA for further investigation and action.
