FinMin says budget programs that can face COVID-19 will be launched

KATHMANDU, May 16: Reappointed Minister for Finance, Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that he will bring next year's budget with programs to face COVID-19.

KATHMANDU, May 16: Reappointed Minister for Finance, Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that he will bring next year's budget with programs to face COVID-19.



After assuming his office at the Ministry of Finance on Friday, Minister Poudel said that the next fiscal year’s budget is in the final stage of preparation. He said the new budget would be aimed at reviving and mobilizing the economy affected by the COVID pandemic.

He said that all forces, resources and capabilities would be mobilized to prevent and control COVID-19 and make the fight against COVID-19 more intense and effective.


Finance Minister Poudel also expressed his commitment to make all necessary efforts for the testing and treatment of those infected with COVID-19.


Soon after his reappointment, Finance Minister Poudel approved a decision to provide Rs 58.3 million for installation of oxygen plants and pipeline connections in Dadeldhura Hospital, Patan Academy of Health Sciences and Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj.
