Finance Minister emphasizes women's access to capital

BANEPA, Dec 14: Finance Minister Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada has said that the financial system has been stable through a small effort. 



Inaugurating today the office of Women Micro Finance Ltd at Sanga of Banepa municipality-13 in Kavrepalanchowk, the Finance Minister underlined the need of ensuring women's access to capital, information, and technology.

“An access to economic and political strengthening and power of production through income generations was necessary to earn dignity for anyone in the society,” he said. 


As he said, while he was in the post of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) governor, he had called on all the non- government organizations making financial activities to transform into microfinance companies and nine organizations had been already transformed into a microfinance model in a period of four months and 16 were left. 


The company with its head office at Sanga has 57,721 members and it has so far invested Rs 3.14 billion in several areas. RSS
