KATHMANDU, Dec 11: After Dr Bharat Raj Gautam’s resignation from the position of General Secretary of the Federal Parliament was accepted, Padam Prasad Pandey has been recommended in his place. Gautam’s resignation was accepted by the President's Office.
Dr Gautam resigned from the post of General Secretary of the Federal Parliament on Sunday. He was appointed to that post on 4th May 2020.

After his resignation was accepted, Federal Parliament Speaker Devraj Ghimire and National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Timalsina met President Ramchandra Paudel today (Monday) and recommended Pandey's name for appointment as General Secretary. Pandey is currently working as the Secretary of the House of Representatives.
Pandey, who resigned as Deputy Attorney General, was immediately appointed as the Secretary of the House of Representatives.
