ILAM, April 29: Raju Chaudhary of Ilam Municipality-7 has murdered his eight years old daughter, Birupa and attempted to murder another 3 years old daughter, Meera on Friday night.
Police have said that Raju went to Friends Hotel in Ilam Bazaar and took a room for Friday night after quarrelling with his wife in the evening and strangled Birupa to death in the hotel room. He strangled Meera also but she was found only unconscious when Police intervened at the crime scene.

According to SP Sushil Kumar Yadav at Ilam District Police Office, Raju himself had attempted suicide but he failed on it as the shawl used to hang himself on ceiling broke and he sustained injury.
Meera, who was found unconscious is sent to Birta City Hospital in Birtamod, Jhapa while Police has arrested Chaudhary after his treatment in District Hospital in Ilam Bazaar.
