KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Nepal’s former ambassador to United Nations in Geneva Shambhuram Simkhada’s book “Human Rights: Human Wrongs In the Scale of Human Conscience” was released on Monday.
Amid a function in the capital, Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali unveiled the book coinciding with the 70th International Human Rights Day. Addressing the program, Gyawali said that powerful countries of the world should work to end the menace of violence, hunger and various diseases instead of engaging in arms race. “It will really help to establish peace and promote human rights around the world,” he said.

Gyawali was of the view that the powerful countries should follow the principles of United Charter and work for establishing peace accordingly.
“As we are observing the 70th International Human Rights Day today, I urge the powerful nations to seriously think about the unbearable suffering of the people in war-torn countries such as Yemen and Syria,” he said.
