KATHMANDU, April 28: Education Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN) has welcomed Australian High Commission’s decision to recognize financial documents issued buy all A-listed commercial banks of Nepal for student visa processing.

The New Delhi-based high commission took the decision in mid-April, according to an ECAN statement.

Only a few Nepali banks had so far been authorized to issue financial documents for students planning study in Australia. This had made things difficult for students who did not have access to the banks.

For facilitating students and parents, ECAN had long been making efforts to ensure that all A-listed commercial banks are authorized to issue the financial documents, it said. “ECAN looks forward to providing additional services to students aspiring to pursue higher studies in Australia,” it added
