DPM Lamichhane warns of actions against those involved in distributing cash to influence outcome of by-elections

ILLAM, April 21: Deputy Prime Minister and President of Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane, has said that leaders and cadres of any political party involved in cash distribution to influence the outcomes of by-elections will face stern action.



Addressing an electoral rally at Phakphokthum in Ilam on Saturday, Home Minister Lamichhane said that those visiting voters with cash during the period of silence will be booked.

He added that the distributors would be punished within 24 hours if proper evidence were shared regarding the wrongdoing.


Lamichhane asked the local people to send pictures of cash suppliers influencing the by-elections to the Ministry of Home Affairs and vowed to take action against them within 24 hours.


Lamichhane attended the electoral rally organized for his party's candidate, Milan Limbu.


The by-elections are scheduled to take place on April 27 in Ilam Constituency-2.
