DPL incurs Rs 1.5 million loss

DHANGADHI, May 2: Dhangadhi Cricket Academy (DCA) and Sudur Paschimanchal Academy, organizers of the Dhangadhi Premier League (DPL), handed Rs 123,591 to the family of late cricket coach Arjun Khadka on Tuesday.



The amount was collected from 20% of the ticket money raised throughout the DPL and Rs 5000 each given by all the captains of the teams that took part in the T20 cricket tournament.



DCA's President Subash Shahi and Director Mahesh Shah handed over the amount to Khadka's family with the aim of helping Khadka's children for higher studies. 



Meanwhile, organizers of the DPL unveiled the details of income and expenses of the tournament on Tuesday. As per the details, the organizers faced a loss of Rs 1.5 million.



According to the organizers, the DPL had collected Rs 16.7 million form the tournament including sponsorship amount while Rs 18.2 million was spent resulting in a loss of Rs 1.5 million.



The DPL, a city-based auction cricket tournament, was organized in Dhagadhi from April 10 to 22.
