Releasing a press statement through social media, Manange has announced that he has decided to join the CPN (Unified Socialist). He also announced that he would support the ruling alliance in the Gandaki provincial assembly for the formation of a new government.

With his decision to join the Unified Socialist party, Manange has been the only candidate of the party elected under the First-Past-the-Post (FPTP) electoral system in Gandaki Provincial Assembly. As a part of the power sharing deal within the ruling alliance, the Unified Socialist candidate Gopal Khanal had received a ticket from Nawalpur 2 (B). However, he was defeated by CPN-UML candidate Laxman Pandey.
