Dahal defeats world No 9 to win Dubai Junior Int’l

KATHMANDU, Sept 16: Nepal’s Prince Dahal has become the champion of the men’s singles Dubai Junior International Badminton U-19 Series after he defeated world number nine player on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, Sept 16: Nepal’s Prince Dahal has become the champion of the men’s singles Dubai Junior International Badminton U-19 Series after he defeated world number nine player on Sunday. 



At the NAS Sports Complex in Dubai, Dahal defeated world no 9 India’s Varun Kapur on straight sets of 21-19, 21-19 to win the title. Dahal is currently on the 103rd place in the age group rankings. 

The defending champion Dahal reached the second round on Thursday, defeating Dubai’s 

Bharnu Kartik Mohan 21-8, 21-15, while he got a bye in the first round and reached the second.

Dahal was also the last year’s champion of the U-15 category, while he also won the Asian Junior U-17 Championship in Thailand last year. 


It has been confirmed that he will be participating in the South Asian Badminton Youth U-21 Championship in the Maldives.
