CREASION and EU launch GreenShift project in Bagmati, Lumbini and Madhesh

KATHMANDU, Feb 22: CREASION and the European Union (EU) have launched the GreenShift project in Bagmati, Lumbini, and Madhesh provinces aimed at supporting a fair shift to a circular economy and promoting the circularity of plastic waste for Net-Zero Carbon Nepal, has been introduced in Nepal with EU backing.

KATHMANDU, Feb 22: CREASION and the European Union (EU) have launched the GreenShift project in Bagmati, Lumbini, and Madhesh provinces aimed at supporting a fair shift to a circular economy and promoting the circularity of plastic waste for Net-Zero Carbon Nepal, has been introduced in Nepal with EU backing.



Ten different climate-smart entrepreneur stalls, including Kanduk Industry, Eco-Revive, and Kleanit Nepal, showcased their eco-friendly and sustainable products. One of the stalls from CREASION displayed jackets made from 100 percent recycled PET bottles. Restless Development and Youth Innovation Lab (YI-LAB) are the consortium partners.

Aanand Mishra, Founder & President of CREASION said that the organization is committed to encouraging the circularity of plastic waste for Net-Zero Carbon Nepal.  He said, "To achieve the Net-Zero emission target, a collective and compassionate effort is crucial."


The Minister for Forest and Environment for the Province of Bagmati, Masina Khadka, expressed her delight at the teamwork in addressing waste management and waste workers in Nepal. She expressed her eagerness to see the positive changes the project will bring in the coming years and expressed her full support to the project. 


Ganesh Shah, former Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology, commended the initiative of such projects, calling it inspiring, revolutionary, and result-oriented. He praised CREASION and the EU for motivating youths and contributing to environmental cleanup. 


GreenShift Nepal is a four-year project that will be implemented in nine municipalities—three in each of Bagmati, Madhesh, and Lumbini provinces, according to CREASION.
