KATHMANDU, Sept 12: CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel is set to return to Nepal from China today, canceling all of his previously scheduled engagements.

Rajan Bhattarai, a UML Standing Committee Member and Head of the Foreign Affairs Department, attributed this sudden change in plans to the unexpected passing of Vice Chairman Subas Nembang within the party. Nembang succumbed to a sudden heart attack on Monday night. He was 70.
