Coronavirus death toll in Karnali Province rises to 27 as a school teacher succumbs to virus in Dolpa

BIRENDRANAGAR, Jan 4: The coronavirus death toll in Karnali Province has risen to 27 as a school teacher succumbed to the virus in Dolpa district on Monday.

BIRENDRANAGAR, Jan 4: The coronavirus death toll in Karnali Province has risen to 27 as a school teacher succumbed to the virus in Dolpa district on Monday.



The 51-year-old teacher who died of the coronavirus and was originally from Aandhikhola-5 of Syangja district, was teaching at a school in Dolpa. His throat swab sample was collected on December 29 and was sent for testing.

As his test report came positive for the virus, he stayed isolated at home. On December 31, the man was taken to the District Hospital, Dolpa, after he complained of headache, vomiting and dizziness.


On January 1, he fell unconscious and  was referred to HAMS Hospital in Kathmandu for further treatment, where he breathed his last.
