KATHMANDU, Jan 9: Kali Bahadur Gharti Magar, a conflict victim from Salyan, grieves that he has been knocking at the door of the stakeholders, including Peace Committee and Truth and Reconciliation Committee for justice but to no avail.
Magar, who was thrice abducted by the Maoist insurgents during the decade-long insurgency in the country, has been approaching the concerned government bodies in the Capital for a week and half but none has heeded his plea for justice.
‘We Look at Nepal for Nepal's Sake’
He told RSS that he was displaced following the abduction and has been residing in Banke district with five family members for nearly two decades.
The elderly conflict-victim whose house at Chadekarengi-3 in Salyan district was destroyed in 1999, has urged the government to duly provide compensation to other conflict victims alike.
A member of the Nepali Congress, Salyan district chapter, Magar represents some 6,000 conflict victims from Salyan district who either themselves or their family members suffered serious violations of human rights, including murder, torture, kidnapping, rape among others brutal inhumane activities from both the State and then Maoist insurgents .RSS
