Communications Minister Sharma directs increment of capital expenditure

KATHMANDU, May 22: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has directed the ministry’s subordinate bodies to enhance their capital expenditure capacity.

KATHMANDU, May 22: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has directed the ministry’s subordinate bodies to enhance their capital expenditure capacity.



She asked them to deliver in a way to meet the target. "The target should be achieved. There are reasons for the capital not being spent. We must seriously review them," she said while addressing a meeting to review the third quarterly progress report of the ministry organised here on Monday.

She urged all to become serious about achieving the target. "It requires a clear plan to achieve the target of capital expenditure." 


Similarly, the National Planning Commission member Dr Jayakanta Raut stressed the need for adopting a culture of coordination and cooperation for increasing capital expenditure.


The Ministry’s Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut directed chiefs of the attending bodies to focus on increasing capital expenditure and revenue collection, and clearing the arrears.
