GANDAKI, July 5: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel has said he is ready to work together with the private sector to ensure a prosperous Gandaki Province. “Time has come to create an investment-friendly atmosphere,” he said.

Addressing the 26th establishment day of the Lekhnath Industry and Commerce Association on Monday, CM Pokhrel said that creation of jobs with promotion of industry is imperative.

“The government could create an investment-friendly atmosphere rather than running industries itself,” he said, adding that public-private partnership would also foster an atmosphere for investment.

The association’s Chairperson Chhatradhar Atreya said the industries based on agriculture should be prioritized.

Similarly, industrialist Anjan Shrestha suggested to the government that it reduce imports and prioritize domestic production.

Vice Chancellor of Pokhara University, Prof Dr Prem Narayan Aryal said the state could formulate such a policy that would create able and skilled human resources required for the country's development.
