KATHMANDU, July 4: Claiming that they faced insecurity at work, the judges and employees of Lalitpur District Court have reached out to the Supreme Court (SC).
The hearing of all cases at Lalitpur District Court on Tuesday was affected after the judges and employees left the court.
“There was no working environment after people started chanting slogans against us,” said a judge of the District Court, “So, we came to the Supreme Court. The current problems have to be resolved.”

At present, the judges and employees of the district court are holding discussions with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
Nepal Bar Association (NBA) also announced protest programs, stating that lawyers have been trapped in false cases.
The incident of assault on non-gazetted first class officer Premika Tamang by advocate Amir Lamicchane in Lalitpur District Court has led to employees and legal professionals taking part in the protest. On Monday, legal practitioners staged a protest in front of the District Court in Lalitpur.
Earlier on June 28, the court employees from all over the country protested against the attack on Tamang while she was working at the District Court, Lalitpur. Advocate Lamichhane was arrested after Tamang filed a petition against Lamichhane at the District Court, Lalitpur, demanding action for contempt of court on the same day of the incident.
The NBA, on its part, demanded on Monday that the detained advocate Lamichhane be released within 24 hours.
