Chinese national arrested with US dollars and Bangladeshi Taka

KATHMANDU, March 17: A Chinese national was arrested today with 9,100 US dollars and 29,500 Bangladeshi Taka when he was trying to smuggle it illegally from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

KATHMANDU, March 17: A Chinese national was arrested today with 9,100 US dollars and 29,500 Bangladeshi Taka when he was trying to smuggle it illegally from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).



According to the Police Spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Poshraj Pokharel, 52-year-old Chinese citizen Kai Hunan, who was about to board a Bangladesh Airlines flight to Bangladesh from Kathmandu, was arrested at the airport.

Pokharel said that the dollar and taka were found in his bag while checking his hand bag with the X-ray machine in the departure area of the airport.


Hunan has been sent to the Department of Revenue Investigation, Harihar Bhawan, Lalitpur, for necessary investigation and further legal action, according to the Police Headquarters.
