KATHMANDU, May 3: Janakpur Zonal Hospital is all set to start cardio treatment services with the support of Shahid Gangalal Heart Center.

The two hospitals signed an agreement in this regard on Tuesday in coordination of the Ministry of Health (MoH), said Ram Krishna Lamichhane, under-secretary at the ministry.

As per the agreement, Gangalal hospital will look into the management of cardio-vascular facilities, provide human resources and sophisticated services in the zonal hospital, said Lamichhane.

“The ministry will provide support to buy equipment and to set up other facilities required for the zonal hospital,” he added.

It is the second time that Gangalal hospital signed such agreement to extend cardio services outside the Kathmandu Valley, according to the MoH. A similar agreement between Gangalal and Bheri Zonal Hospital was signed about two months ago. Bheri Zonal Hospital has already started providing cardio treatment services, said Lamichhane.
