KATHMANDU, July 7: During today's session of the National Assembly, lawmaker Padam Bahadur Giri expressed concern over the use of derogatory language for people with disabilities in the previous session. He called for the removal of such terms from parliament's official records.

He said that in the July 4 meeting of the upper house, words like 'crippled' and  'lame' were used, which he deemed insulting to the people with disabilities. He urged the National Assembly Chair to ensure that such language is not used in future meetings and requested the removal of those terms from the archive.
