Cabinet takes a slew of decisions

KATHMANDU, Feb 8: The government of Nepal has decided to approve the National Broadcasting (11th Amendment) Regulation, 2021. 



The Cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to approve the act, according to the Spokesperson for the government and Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki. Similarly, the government has decided to approve the  Security Registration and Issuance Fifth Amendment Regulation 2021.

The Cabinet has also decided to hold the local level elections on May 13 as per the Sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Local Level Election Act 2016 as per the advice received from the Election Commission.


Likewise, the Cabinet has decided to announce the Himalayan Agriculture Farm at Biratnagar Metropolis-18 of Morang district as a Bird-flu infected area to control the infection from transmitting to other poultry. Also, decisions were made to extend the tenure of honorary Consul Generals working at Singapore, Rome (Italy), and  Bucharest (Romania). 


Similarly, decisions were made to provide compensation to three houses within the road boundary of Nuwakot district for the implementation of the Pushpalal (Mid-Hills) Highway Project.


Minister Karki also said that the government has decided to accept the sixth periodic report of the 1989 International Convention on Child Rights and submit it to the United Nations (UN). Similarly, the Cabinet has decided to declare the watershed of Fewa  Lake to be protected watershed. 


Furthermore, as per the recommendation of the Public Service Commission and the Promotion Committee, some Gazetted Second Class Officers of various services and groups were promoted to the Gazetted First class (Joint-Secretary) level, transferred and deputed by the Cabinet, said Spokesperson Karki. He also mentioned that the government has decided to approve multi-sectoral action plans for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.
