BTS has officially won the title of MTV UK’s Hottest Summer Superstar 2019!
MTV UK announced that BTS had won the annual poll, which asks voters to choose the hottest star of the summer each year. Previous winners include One Direction, Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, and Selena Gomez.
BTS claimed 19,709,352 of this year’s votes (of which there were over 44 million in total) to take No. 1 for 2019, beating out Lady Gaga, who took No. 2 with a total of 12,757,156 votes. The group is now the first Korean artist ever to win the title.
BLACKPINK came in at No. 3 with 3,894,590 votes, while Ariana Grande and Cardi B followed at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.
