KATHMANDU, Aug 29: Nepal has set a target of 222 runs to Oman in its first Asia Cup Qualifier match at Bayuemas Oval Stadium



Nepal, which lost the toss, chose to bat first scoring 221 runs in its alloted 50 overs losing nine wickets.

Sagar Pun scored 83 runs hitting six boundaries and two sixes from 84 balls. Likewise, opener Gyanendra Malla scored 45 runs from 60 balls hitting six boundaries and one six. Aarif Sheikh scored 36 runs, and Karan KC scored 26 runs setting out a score of 221 runs in the board.


Captain Paras Khadka (8), Subash Khakurel (4) , Sompal Kami (5), Dipendra Singh Airee (9) and Rohit Kumar (0) failed to reach double digits. Nepal had lost its four wickets very early in the match. Sagar Pun and Aarif Sheikh put a good partnership. 


Mohammad Nadeem, Bilal Khan, and Ajay Lalcheta each took two wickets for the Oman side.
