KATHMANDU, Jan 16: The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notice to take departmental action against Inspector Susant Thapa of the Armed Police Force (APF). He is going to be prosecuted by a secretary-level decision of the ministry dated 11th of January.
The ministry issued a notice on Tuesday and informed those concerned that because of his absence for a long time without approval of leave; he will be 'disqualified for government services in the future and removed from service'.

Thapa is stationed at the Armed Police Force, Nepal, No.11 Battalion Headquarters in Rautahat and is currently serving in the Human Resource Department at the Armed Police Force Nepal Head Office.
The Ministry has stated that Thapa has been absent without notice since December 7, 2023, and without obtaining official leave approval. Due to the inability to establish contact and the violation of official responsibilities and conduct, Thapa is now facing charges under Article (h) of Sub-rule (1) of Rule 113 of the Armed Police Regulations, 2072. This particular offense pertains to being absent from the office for fifteen consecutive days without approved leave, as outlined in Clause (B) (1) of Rule 110 of the Regulations. The notice further specifies that departmental action is to be taken.
The Ministry has directed that, if there are valid reasons for exemption from departmental punishment, aside from exceeding the time taken to report to office, individuals have a period of 7 (seven) days from the notice's publication date to submit a justification for acquittal along with supporting reasons.
