KATHMANDU, Jan 12: Departmental Armed Police Force Club lifted the title of the second edition of New Diamond Cup Open National Women Volleyball Tournament by registering a 3-1 win over New Diamond Volleyball Club in the Capital on Saturday.
APF won three consecutive sets to secure the win. Saraswati Chaudhary had 31 kills for APF.
Police clinches National Women’s Volleyball title
To begin with, New Diamond started in style with winning the first set 25-16. However, APF's aggressive response took over with the APF winning the rest three consecutive sets 25-21, 25-23 and 25-18. For New Diamond, Prathiva Mali had 42 kills. Departmental Police Team got third position by defeating Tops Secondary School, Pokhara.
Winner APF received Rs 300,000 while first runner up Rs 200,000. The second runner up got Rs 100,000, and Tops Secondary School Rs 50,000.
