A woman arrested for sexually assaulting and attempting to kill a toddler

BARA, June 9: District Police Office (DPO), Bara on Saturday arrested a woman on the charge of sexually assaulting and attempting to kill a toddler.



Police Inspector Sanuram Bhattarai informed Republica that Kalawati Devi Giri, 40, of Mahagadhimai Municipality-1 has been charged of abusing and attempting to kill a two-year-old girl child on Thursday.

Reportedly, the minor was playing outside her house on Thursday when Giri took her to an isolated place. Inspector Bhattarai further said that the woman tied both hands of the child and filled her mouth and vagina with pieces of cloth.


It has been suspected that Giri abused the child due to family grudges. Police have intensified investigation into the case to find out more details.
