70 more test positive for COVID-19 in Birgunj

BIRGUNJ, Aug 11: As many as 70 more individuals tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the course of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests conducted at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj.

BIRGUNJ, Aug 11: As many as 70 more individuals tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the course of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests conducted at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj. 



The test results received on Monday night confirmed 65 new cases of the viral disease in Parsa and five in Bara district.

According to the medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Madan Kumar Upadhyay, of the total new cases detected on Monday, 22 were females and 48 were males of three to 86 years of age.


Four policemen and four inmates at the Ward Police Office, Birtha have also contracted the virus. Likewise, three health workers of National Medical College, Birgunj were also diagnosed with the novel coronavirus disease.
