560 cases of cyber crime registered

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: As many as 560 cases of cyber crime were registered at the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Teku in the first six months of the current fiscal year, the Division said.

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: As many as 560 cases of cyber crime were registered at the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Teku in the first six months of the current fiscal year, the Division said. 



Most of such cases took place through the social networking sites such as facebook, twitter, viber and the like. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the Division Pashupati Raya said that with the development of technology, the cases of cyber crimes were increasingly taking place in the city.

DSP Raya added, "The Division had received a total of 830 complaints related to cyber crimes in the last fiscal year. We have received 560 such cases in the first six months of current fiscal year." 


Of the total cyber crime related complaints registered, cases have been lodged against 11 such incidents, shared DSP Raya. RSS
