51,637 NOCs issued in six months

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: More than 51,000 students have taken their no objection certificates (NOCs) in the first six months of the current fiscal year.

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: More than 51,000 students have taken their no objection certificates (NOCs) in the first six months of the current fiscal year.



According to the data of the NOC branch of the Ministry of Education, as many as 51,637 people have taken NOCs between July 17, 2023, and January 14, 2024.

According to the NOC branch, 12,075 NOCs were issued to students going to Canada followed by 9,787 for those leaving for higher studies in Australia.


The branch also issued 8,567 NOCs for students heading to Japan, 6,687 for those going to the UK, 5,318 for individuals studying in the US, 2,372 for South Korea, and 1,312 for students bound for India.


According to the records maintained by the office, students have obtained NOCs for studying in 58 different countries. Shantiram Paudel, the branch head, said that an average of 500 students apply for NOCs online every day.
