14 died and 24 injured in bus accident in Amlekhganj

KATHMANDU, Oct 6: Fourteen people died in a bus accident in Bara on Thursday morning. Twelve of the injured died in Hetauda Hospital alone.

KATHMANDU, Oct 6: Fourteen people died in a bus accident in Bara on Thursday morning. Twelve of the injured died in Hetauda Hospital alone.



Inspector Balram Shrestha of the District Police Office, Makwanpur, said that one more person each died in Chure Hill Hospital and Makwanpur Cooperative Hospital.

The bus (Ba 06-001 Kha 0110), which was going from Narayanghat to Birgunj, met with an accident on Bridge No 3 at Jeetpur Simra Sub-Metropolitan City-22 Amlekhganj. The bus fell into the river.


According to the District Police Office Bara, 24 people were injured in the accident which happened around 11AM. According to Inspector Shrestha, seven men and six women died in the accident. They are yet to be identified.


Immediately after the accident, the police team was deployed for rescue. The injured have been taken to Hetauda, Chure Hill and Sancho Hospital for treatment.


More details are yet to come, said the police.
