NEPALGUNJ, Oct 22: Three Nepali boys have been rescued from an orphanage in Muzaffarpur, India. The boys, Tikaram Puri (15), Suraj Giri (15) and Sundar Sanyasi (14) of Dailekh district were rescued by the Social Welfare Committee of Dailekh.

Tikaram and Suraj were tempted to leave their village and go to India after hearing about good job prospects in India from their fellow villagers. They had left for India a year ago. Sundar was enticed into leaving his home by a relative.  These boys, like the other children from Nepal who are trafficked into India for manual works, were taken to a hotel and assigned hazardous jobs with minimal pay.

The Indian police had rescued these boys from the hotel and kept them at an orphanage in Bangalore for a month. They were then sent to an orphanage in Bihar.

According to Tikaram, there are still 32 boys like them aged 6-17 years, who are living in the orphanage in Banglaore. “We were told that we'll get enough food and good clothes to wear.

But we were made to toil for hours in the hotel and there wasn't enough food or good clothe to wear,” he added.
