KATHMANDU, Feb 1: Independent Member of Parliament (MP) Amresh Kumar Singh has demanded the government form a high-level committee to identify the real reasons behind the increasing cases of self-immolation and suicide and resolve them.
Speaking at the zero hour of parliament on Wednesday, he questioned, “Why are citizens committing self-immolation and suicide? A high-level judicial investigation committee should be formed.'' He raised a question as to why it is getting difficult for ordinary citizens to sustain their daily lives.
Singh to name panel for setting IOM dean appointment criteria
Another MP Ambika Basnet drew the attention of the government saying that no one should have to suffer the same fate as Prem Prasad Acharya who committed self-immolation in front of the parliament building recently.
