NEA allows five-year installments to settle arrears of dedicated and trunk lines

KATHMANDU,  Jan 9: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has given a deadline of five years to pay the arrears of dedicated and trunk lines.

KATHMANDU,  Jan 9: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has given a deadline of five years to pay the arrears of dedicated and trunk lines.



Issuing a public notice on Tuesday, the NEA has requested the concerned parties to contact the relevant distribution center of the NEA within the next 30 days to apply for a settlement on the installment basis.

The notice stated that a meeting of the NEA Board of Directors on January 1 made a special arrangement to allow them to pay the outstanding amount in installments. The NEA also clarified that the arrangement has been made for one time only.


According to the NEA, 61 industries have arrears of Rs 22.24 billion. Power supply of 24 industries that have not paid their dues has been discontinued.
