CHITWAN, Aug 10: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said that police arrested Chand-led NCP Spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma for his involvement in extortion and violent activities by breaching the rules of law.
Talking to journalists at Bharatpur Airport on Friday morning, Minister Thapa said, “Those who violate the rules of law are criminals. It is the government’s duty to curb criminal activities. We arrested Bishwakarma in the course of maintaining law and order in the country.”

Thapa further said the government will resolve the issue of Bishwakarma's arrest through political dialogues.
"An informal talks has already been initiated to this end," said Thapa.
Regarding the Nishan abduction and murder case in Bhaktapur held recently, Thapa said that the Home Ministry was successful to take action against the kidnappers within 24 hours and asserted that the kidnappers were killed in an encounter, dismissing reports of a 'fake encounter.'
