A 22-year old woman attacked with acid in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, July 24: A 22-year-old woman was attacked with acid by an unidentified person at Sitapaila in Kathmandu on Thursday evening.

KATHMANDU, July 24: A 22-year-old woman was attacked with acid by an unidentified person at Sitapaila in Kathmandu on Thursday evening.



According to police, the victim has been identified as Pabitra Karki. The unidentified person attacked her with acid when she came to a retail store to buy some grocery items.

“The victim has injuries on her face. She has been admitted to Kirtipur Hospital for treatment,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shyam Lal Gyawali, who is the chief of Metropolitan Police Range Office, Kathmandu, told Republica.


The chief of the Kathmandu Police also said that police have already launched a search operation to nab the person throwing the acid on her face. “The health condition of the victim is stable,” Gyawali further said.


The victim has told police that she does not have any clue about the person throwing acid on her.
